After purchasing some fantastic lens flare kits I was itching to use them somewhere. These are made by an amazing company creating Photoshop elements using actual lighting techniques, glass refraction's and distortions. You can then use them in Photoshop, layered up and with actions to give your photos a real dramatic flare. I have used them here on some of my photos from Millwood photography studio of Carolina Le Borg. I've used an anamorphic aspect ratio...

This is the second time I have worked with Rob at RTM bathrooms photographing yet another stunning bathroom. Rob fits all of these makeover’s himself, renovating old and tired looking bathrooms in to spectacular masterpieces. The craftsmanship is his work is fantastic, utilising and maximising the spaces available. The walls are adorned with beautiful tiles, lit with stunning LED inset lighting turning your standard bathroom in to a stunning living space.

I sat here a little over a week ago to write this blog post which followed a photography mission taking photos round Manchester with a colleague. It was a fun day capturing some images of the city for her to print and display on the walls of her new Berlin home. At the time I just couldn't find the words to describe the day that would accompany the photos perfectly. I just saved it as a draft, unfinished and unread.

Across what has been a devastati...

They say you should never meet your heroes but perhaps that depends on who your heroes are. Maybe it says something about me but I don’t really idolise celebrities or people in the mainstream media but I admire and enjoy following several successful photographers. Lara Jade being one of them.

Lara Jade is a British fashion photographer who started her business at the age of 15 and now at the age of 26 worked between New York and London shooting high end fash...

It was announced on the 10th of March 2017 that the BBC has lost the rights to make Songs of Praise in house. Under a new government led Charter the BBC will have to put all of its programmes up for tender and invite other companies to pitch for it. One of the first to fall was Songs of Praise. The show will now be produced by Nine Lives Media and Avanti Media rather than in house at the BBC. The show was beloved across the nation by hymn lovers and has bee...

The classic dessert Eton Mess is a really interesting subject to shoot as there is a limited number of ingredients but there are many ways of presenting it. This was the basis of a challenge I recently set my creative team. 3 photographers, 3 points of view and 3 different versions of the dessert. Before I set the challenge to the team, I decided to have some fun and give it a go myself.

The challenge was to shoot some food photography for the com...

At the time of writing this post somethings in life are spiralling out of my control but I have decided to turn this in to a positive post and look forward to the future.

In truth I have a lot to be grateful for. There are times that you have to stop yourself and realise that. I've been lucky enough to find a job that I love, one that stretches me to areas I never knew, tests my boundaries and one that I can be creative in many ways. I'm grateful for the unb...

365 days....that's lot of time to grow, change and learn.

The turn of a new year is always time for self reflection. 2016 for me was 12 months of such a dramatic change in me as a person and as a creative artist. No longer just a photographer but in everyday life now as a manager, a team leader, a creative force and a mentor. How do I do that? How do I become that person?

Questions still remain unanswered, some things cleared, others remain bl...

Photographing someone's wedding is still an exhilarating experience for me no matter how many I have under my belt. As a photographer there is a huge sense of excitement, a healthy dose of nerves and a hint of pressure to create something beautiful for those whom you are photographing.  I never want to be the wedding photographer who is set in their ways and repeats the same shots over and over. That's just not me. On the inside I'm a creative and I believe...

This was a good fun afternoon of collaborating with Julia Babiarz. After having a quick look on Pintrest for some inspiration we decided to try a wet hair look similar to one that model Cara Delevingne had sported in a recent Prada advertising campaign (see the left hand example)

So we gave it a go.

With the help of water spray bottle we gently added layer after layer of water to Julia's hair and took plenty of shots. I think we did a pretty...

Now I'm not a festival goer I have to admit. The thought of being stuck in the middle of a mosh pit at Glastonbury is certainly not what I'd want to do with my summer evenings. However as music festivals go, Boardmasters has to be one of the coolest and most underrated. Set high up on the headlands of Watergate bay in Newquay Boardmasters overlooks some of the best ocean surf the UK has to offer. The setting could not be more perfect for a day of laid back...

The Hidden Hut is a small rustic outdoor beach cafe located just outside Portscatho on the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall. A friendly, low-key place run by local couple, Simon Stallard & Jemma Glass, and their team. It’s a great place to eat and unwind in a relaxed atmosphere.

A useful pit stop for walkers and beach goers alike. In the summer months they open in the evenings to host pop-up feast nights, and over the years it has steadily been building a reputa...

Since 1981 Boardmaster's has been an integral part of the British surf scene. From humble beginnings as a small surf competition, it is now one of the biggest events on the professional British surfing calendar; not to mention the music festival. Returning to Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach on Wednesday 10 August, Boardmaster's Festival features some of the finest surfing talent from across Europe.

With a mixture of live music and action sports on...
