We want a future where our environment is not threatened by plastic.  A future where people and nature thrive.  A future for adventure and life free of pollution

Plastic Patrol combines community action, technology and science to clean-up, understand and solve the plastic problem. We work in three key areas:

• Clean-up events

• Citizen science using the Plastic Patrol app to collect data on plastic pollution

• Developing partnerships with businesses, organisations and individuals to raise awareness and help implement sustainable practices

''Watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you

because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.

Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”  - Roald Dahl

In 2016 Lizzie Carr, aka Lizzie Outside, launched #PlasticPatrol after seeing how flooded our waterways are with plastic pollution. She is a natural born adventurer and has dedicated herself to exploring the UK by paddle board, using her journey to highlight and educate on wider environmental issues affecting our land and waterways.

Lizzie has completed some amazing expeditions. In May 2016 she became the first person in history to paddle board the length of England’s waterways, solo and unsupported. She finished the 400-mile journey in 22 days, plotting over 2000 photos of plastic pollution she encountered and earning international recognition from both the media and general public for her efforts.

In April 2018 Lizzie paddled the length of the Hudson River in America to highlight the plastic pollution issue globally.

#PlasticPatrol began on a paddleboard but has grown to be a global movement of like-minded people working together on land and water to protect the environment we love.
