Culinary Cornwall: The Hidden Hut

The Hidden Hut is a small rustic outdoor beach cafe located just outside Portscatho on the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall. A friendly, low-key place run by local couple, Simon Stallard & Jemma Glass, and their team. It’s a great place to eat and unwind in a relaxed atmosphere.

A useful pit stop for walkers and beach goers alike. In the summer months they open in the evenings to host pop-up feast nights, and over the years it has steadily been building a reputation as a unique and exciting new food venue on the Roseland peninsula.

Like a big family picnic, you bring the plates, cutlery and wine and they provide the food and fire. The special that night was wood-fired Rotisserie Chicken which smelt amazing. Half chickens marinated in lemon, oregano & paprika, then spit-roasted over Tregothnan hardwood. Hand-cut chips crisped up in the roasting juices served with spring salad and aioli.
